| Wakefield Trinity have announced that they have strengthened their squad through the signing of Newcastle Knights hooker Tyler Randell.
Randell will join Chris Chester's side ready for pre-season training and is expected to play a major role in the Trinity 2018 campaign.
Signed on a two year deal it will be the twenty-four year olds first exposure to the British game after spending his whole career, since his 2014 debut, at the Knights.
Head coach Chester is delighted at the signing in a position which he felt needed strengthening.
"His position is one that we identified at the start of the season that we did not have a great deal of depth," said Chester.
"By bringing in Tyler, it will bring in a genuine competition and add quality to what is already a strong squad."
Although Randell's preferred position is that of hooker, he can also play loose forward or either half back berth. In forty-four games for the Knights he's scored five tries and kicked two goals.
